Question
My baby is 50 days old and suddenly doesn’t want to drink milk. It takes a long time to get him to swallow, and he keeps wanting to vomit. His urine has a sour smell, and his tongue is thick and white. Before, he would have a bowel movement after each feeding, but lately, he has one or two bowel movements a day. Could this be due to indigestion? If it is indigestion, what medication or methods can be used for treatment?
Answer
If there’s a bit of indigestion, you can buy some lactase or yeast tablets and give them a try. Alternatively, you can use digestive pills, crush them, mix them with milk, and feed them to the baby. After feeding, you can hold the baby upright and pat their back. If the baby is growing normally in terms of height, weight, and overall spirit, having one or two bowel movements a day is normal. Eventually, having one bowel movement a day would be even better.
