Question
Is it okay for a baby to eat pumped breast milk in an incubator? My baby was born twenty days ago and has been in an incubator for a week. Since then, he doesn’t want to suckle at my breast. When I feed him, he cries instead. I have been pumping and feeding him this way every day. Is it okay to continue this?
Answer
As long as the child understands, it is fine to feed them pumped milk. The most important thing is to make sure the child eats enough and does not disrupt normal growth and development. Gradually help the child get used to the mother’s nipple. Feed appropriately, ensuring a balanced diet with a mix of vegetables and fruits. Decide on cooking methods that are easier for the child to digest, such as braising and boiling. During infancy, it is best to continue breastfeeding while following the principles of complementary foods, providing them gradually to achieve a balanced nutrition. Try not to give the child puff snacks, candy, drinks, and fruit juices.
