Questions

What symptoms may appear after the fifth dose of the DPT vaccine? Is it normal to continue having a fever after the fourth dose? How long does the fever usually last? Do you need to seek medical attention? How were past treatments and their effectiveness? I hope to receive some assistance.

Answers

After receiving the DPT vaccine, infants may experience symptoms such as fever, swelling at the injection site, pain, or decreased appetite. Within 24 to 48 hours after vaccination, a rise in body temperature is a common reaction. If the body temperature is between 37.5 and 38.2 degrees Celsius, physical cooling measures such as wiping the body with warm water or taking a warm bath can be taken. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees Celsius, oral fever-reducing medication can be used. If the fever persists for 2 to 3 days without subsiding, a revisit to the doctor for further examination, including routine blood tests and C-reactive protein tests, is recommended to determine if an infection is present and to receive appropriate treatment.
