Question
My son is nine years old and has difficulty concentrating during tutoring sessions. He fills out exams randomly and even mixes up answers to questions he knows how to do. He doesn’t like writing in class. Could this be ADHD? How can I make him focus and be willing to write without treatment?
Answer
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common condition in children, characterized by difficulties with attention, short periods of concentration, excessive activity levels, or significantly increased feelings of guilt. According to your description, your child may not have ADHD, as this condition usually appears before the age of seven and symptoms persist for at least six months. Your child might just be more active and not enjoy practicing. I suggest strengthening educational guidance. Wishing you and your child good health.
