Question

My child has been having diarrhea six or seven times a day, and it’s not watery. Even after eating, the food isn’t digested and comes out as is. Is this due to undigested food or eating too much?

Answer

Some children may have up to 6-7 bowel movements a day, but each time the amount is not much, the consistency is good, their weight gains normally, and their nutritional status is excellent. This is not pathological and no solution is needed. If a child who usually has 1-2 bowel movements a day suddenly has 5-6 or more, and there is more water content or undigested food residue, they should go to the hospital for a re-examination. If the child has already shown symptoms of dyspepsia again, they can consider giving them a lot of yeast tablets.
