Question

My baby just turned 1 and started running a fever last night. By morning, the fever had subsided, but I gave him medicine during the day. Tonight, the fever has started again, and it’s affecting his afternoon nap.

Answer

The baby is 1 year old and currently has a fever. It occurs at night but is normal during the day. Respiratory infection is considered, and it is recommended to drink plenty of water, enhance care, and have a light, easy-to-digest diet. If the body temperature is below 38.5 degrees Celsius, symptomatic anti-inflammatory medication can be taken orally, and physical cooling can be applied. Early respiratory infections are often caused by viral infections, so an antiviral oral liquid can be taken. If the fever lasts less than 3 days, it is advisable to go to the hospital for a detailed blood test to determine if the infection is viral or bacterial or mycoplasma infection. Lung percussion should be performed to check for bronchitis or pneumonia.
