Question

My child rarely coughs, but occasionally there are two coughs, and it keeps on getting fever. Is it inflammation? This morning, after a thorough examination, the doctor said it was bronchopneumonia. Is it serious? Is it the same as pneumonia?

Answer

If a child has a repeated fever with occasional coughing, they should be taken to the hospital for a chest X-ray to see if it is bronchopneumonia. Bronchopneumonia is a common lung infection in children, also known as pneumonia. Additionally, the symptoms that the child is experiencing again could indeed be bronchopneumonia. It is recommended to undergo intravenous treatment and to carefully observe the child’s temperature changes. Generally, bronchopneumonia is much more severe than pneumonia.
