Question

Yesterday, when I was getting off the bus, my backpack brushed against the bus door. At the time, I was holding the stroller, and the child fell out of it, landing on his face. When I picked him up, he didn’t cry or show any reaction. However, after a pat on the back, he started crying and then wanted to take a nap. I didn’t soothe him; instead, I let him cry for a while. Is there anything serious to worry about?

Answer

Take a close look at the child to see if there are any symptoms of nausea, dry heaves, or mental abnormalities. Compare this with their usual behavior – have their sleep times increased or are they always sleepy? Also, observe if there are any movement disorders in their limbs; you can push on the child’s limbs to see their reaction. If there are no such symptoms, there’s no need to worry too much. However, if you still feel uneasy, consider going to a regular hospital for a head CT scan to ensure safety.
