Question
My baby is 3 months and 14 days old. Since I missed the hip joint ultrasound within the first 3 months, I feel that his hip joint is a bit tight. Sometimes it loosens up by itself when moving, but most of the time it is tucked in and tightly held, causing the middle finger of his right hand to bend and not be able to lift it up. Is this high muscle tone?
Answer
This situation is a normal physiological phenomenon and there is no need to worry. It is recommended to visit a regular pediatric orthopedic department for further examination and treatment to rule out congenital hip dislocation. Just pay close attention and you’ll be fine. There seems to be no problem with your situation. Please take good care of your baby, pay attention to hygiene issues, avoid long periods of standing and fatigue, and consider further examination and treatment at a regular pediatric department.
