Question
Why would a four-month-old baby suddenly lose interest in drinking milk?
Answer
Typically, babies between four to six months may go through a phase known as the “physiological aversion to milk,” during which their appetite may diminish. However, this is usually temporary, and the baby’s growth and development remain normal. During this period, you can try breastfeeding in a darker and quieter environment, and start introducing complementary foods such as rice gruel, rice porridge, congee, egg yolks, fish puree, vegetable puree, fruit puree, and tofu, to ensure the baby receives the necessary nutrition. At the same time, do not force the baby to drink milk, allowing the baby to adapt to new foods.
