Question

How to treat a baby’s head hematoma?

Answer

Medication treatment may not be effective and carries the risk of side effects. It is recommended to observe and carefully protect the baby to avoid further injury. If the hematoma has not broken the skin, no special treatment is needed; just observation is required. If there is a break in the skin, gently press and apply medication. Generally, if there are no other abnormal symptoms, the hematoma should naturally disappear after five days. If the baby shows symptoms such as high fever, abnormal behavior, crying sounds, or confusion, an immediate head CT scan should be performed to confirm whether there is intracranial hemorrhage.
