Question
What are these white dots on my tonsils? I’ve been taking cephalosporin drugs for 5 days, but I still have them. I need assistance in understanding what they are.
Answer
Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, which can be diagnosed clinically as either acute or chronic. If you have any of the following conditions, it may be advisable to consider tonsillectomy: recurrent acute attacks or a history of peritonsillar abscesses, possibly as an original focus of inflammation in other parts, or interfering with normal breathing or swallowing functions. Tonsillectomy is generally not recommended before the age of 6. If it interferes with swallowing and breathing, one side of the tonsils can be removed to eliminate functional impairments. Surgery should not be performed if there is a tendency to bleed, secondary disease healing period, or if the patient’s health condition does not allow for it.
