Question
My daily symptom is to inject gluconate calcium solution. Without the injection, I will experience hand tremors and potentially go into shock. I have taken many calcium tablets, but there has been no improvement. What treatment methods are available?
Answer
When supplementing with calcium, we often only pay attention to the digestion of vitamin D, but neglect the digestion of magnesium. Calcium and magnesium are like twins, usually appearing together, and when the ratio of calcium to magnesium is 2:1, it is most helpful for the digestion and absorption of calcium. Therefore, when supplementing with calcium, don’t forget to also digest magnesium. Foods rich in magnesium include nuts (such as almonds, cashews, and peanuts), soybeans, seeds (such as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds), grains (especially rye, millet, and wheat), and seafood (such as swordfish, mackerel, small shrimp, and lobsters).
