Question
Does eating more make babies grow teeth early? I’ve been feeding my baby formula, but why is it growing teeth so early? Isn’t it usually around six months before babies start teething? What kind of assistance does a four-month-old baby need? Could there be something abnormal about the baby growing teeth so early?
Answer
It’s not abnormal for a baby to grow teeth at four months! Although most babies start teething around six months, the buds of primary teeth begin to develop as early as the second month of pregnancy, and start mineralizing between five and six months. By the time a baby is born, there are already 20 buds of primary teeth in the jawbone. As long as there are no other issues with the baby’s body, growing teeth earlier is fine.
