Question

My child was born 18 days ago and has a runny nose due to high jaundice. There’s a slight cough and phlegm. After staying at the maternal and child health station for treatment for seven days, the jaundice improved on the third day of hospitalization. Now, the runny nose is better, but there’s still phlegm and sometimes a bit of wheezing. What should we do?

Answer

Hello, the baby has obvious respiratory infection symptoms. Currently, besides the recurrence of wheezing, due to the baby’s young age, it is recommended to still be hospitalized for intravenous treatment. A combination of anti-infection, asthma relief, lung clearing, and nebulization is suggested.
