Question
My baby girl is just over a month old. She sleeps soundly during her afternoon nap, but usually only feeds every two hours. By 5 PM, she wakes up to play for a while, and then it’s another two-hour feeding session. From 7 PM to 10 PM, she is in light sleep and needs to be held while sleeping. If placed in bed, she wakes up immediately. Sometimes, even when she falls asleep, she cries loudly. By around 11 or 12 PM, she stops sleeping, and it’s impossible to hold her or sit with her; she has to be carried. Otherwise, she cries very hard, with her belly sticking out and her head sweating with tears. Even when she seems to be asleep and is placed in bed, she wakes up immediately. It’s not until around 11 or 12 PM that she finally falls into deep sleep, from which she wakes up between 5 and 6 AM. Is this a sleep reversal or is it due to calcium deficiency? What can I do to solve this problem?
