Question
My child has a sore throat, ulcers inside their lips, and they have started to have a slight fever with nausea and vomiting. After taking sea buckthorn dry milk powder and probiotics, they no longer feel nausea or vomiting, nor do they have a fever. However, their throat still hurts, there’s still an ulcer on their lips, and they have bumps on their thighs that disappear after applying ointment. Could it be hand, foot, and mouth disease?
Answer
It’s not necessarily hand, foot, and mouth disease or a contagious condition; it could be either a virus or bacteria. A blood test can be done to determine this. You can also prescribe some symptomatic anti-inflammatory medication. For the ulcers, there’s an oral ulcer patch called “Oral Ulcer Intention Patch” that is quite effective; you can try using it.
