Question

Why do children’s ears always feel hot and red?

Answer

There are two common situations for a child’s hot and red ears. First, after engaging in intense physical activity, one often feels their ears become hot. This is because during exercise, the heart rate increases, supplying more blood to the limbs and muscles. After physical activity, the muscles require more blood, but the heart’s pace does not slow down immediately, resulting in an increased flow of blood to the heart. Second, when the external temperature is low, the vessels constrict upon contact with the cold, causing paleness in the face. At this point, if you step out of a warmer indoor environment, the vessels suddenly expand upon encountering heat, and the ears may also feel hot.
