Question

My baby, who is just over three months old, has been sleeping on one side since birth. I try to turn them back to a straight position, but they soon turn back again. What should I do? Thank you. Previous Treatment and Effectiveness: No treatment has been done. Desired Assistance: Can I straighten their sleep position? What bad effects could there be if I can’t?

Answer

Based on your description of the child’s symptoms, it is normal for babies to frequently turn their heads to one side due to curiosity about new things; this can easily lead to an abnormal head shape in children, but it is not a big problem. I suggest you first change your position so that the baby keeps looking in your direction, or find some noisy toys to place in the other direction to attract the baby’s attention. Lastly, you can make two small long pillows to help correct the baby’s posture.
