Question

My baby is two and a half months old, and I’ve been holding him to play with him all this time. Yesterday, I noticed that my baby’s head is starting to lift up. I told my husband about it last night, but he didn’t believe me, saying that a baby so young can’t possibly lift their head. The next day, I took him out to see the flowers, and I could see that he was clearly lifting his neck. I want to know, generally speaking, at what age can babies lift their heads up?

Answer

Babies typically need about 100 days to be able to lift their heads, but since each baby’s growth and development is different, being 10 days early or late is within the normal range. Your baby is only two and a half months old, so even if he can lift his head, it’s recommended not to let him hold it up for too long.
