Common Questions About Pediatric Adenoid Hypertrophy

Answers

Adenoid hypertrophy in children is often physiological and usually reaches its peak by the age of 6, after which it gradually shrinks. If adenoid hypertrophy affects the child’s overall health or adjacent organs, it may be necessary to surgically remove it. The surgery can be performed simultaneously with tonsillectomy or can be done separately. For cases not suitable for surgery, radiotherapy can be considered. If the child is over 4 years old, it can be considered to surgically remove the adenoids.
