Question
What should I do when my child cries every time they have a bowel movement?
Answer
The child now has a red bottom, caused by dampness and the impact of urine and feces. It is recommended to frequently change diapers or disposable nappies; wash the child’s bottom with warm water or 4% boracic acid water after each bowel movement or feeding, dry with a soft cloth without rubbing; when washing the buttocks, use warm water instead of soap to increase the area of impact. After washing, sprinkle talcum powder or apply nappy rash cream. If the weather or room temperature permits, place a disposable nappy pad under the buttocks to allow the buttocks to be fully exposed to air or sunlight, twice or three times a day for 10-20 minutes each time. Generally, the red bottom can be completely recovered within 1-2 days.
