Question

My baby is 1 year and 8 months old. Since birth, his grandfather has always given him a bath, with the water temperature at 47 degrees. Does this have any effect on him? Should I correct it in a hurry? I would appreciate any guidance.

Answer

Generally, it’s good for newborns to bathe every few days, with water temperature at 38 degrees being sufficient. Based on what you’ve described, prolonged exposure to high temperatures during bathing, like 47 degrees, can be very hot. Be sure to take precautions to prevent burns.
