Question
My baby is four months old and hasn’t been having bowel movements much lately. Before, they would go every 3-4 days, and I’ve also used a glycerin suppository, but the bowel movements aren’t too much, nor are they dry, and they are yellowish in a runny consistency. This time, it’s been 7 days without any movement, but the baby still eats as before and doesn’t cry or fuss. I want to know what’s going on. I’m worried.
Answer
The recurrence of this condition in your child may be due to improper feeding. At four months old, you can give your child some fruit juice or water to drink, but not the bottled kind; it should be homemade. Glycerin suppositories are not good for children’s bodies, and drinking fruit and vegetable juice can help with bowel movements.
