Question

The child was crying and restless all night last night, and this morning, after vaccination, we took their temperature and found it to be as high as 38.5 degrees. We have given them a mixture to alleviate the symptoms. We need to know how to bring down the fever and whether we should take the child to the hospital for a detailed examination.

Answer

When the child’s temperature is below 38.5 degrees, use a warm towel to wipe under the armpits, groin, and other areas to help cool down, doing so every 10 minutes. If the temperature remains below 38.5 degrees, you can give them children’s paracetamol as directed on the package. Please take the child to the hospital as soon as possible for blood tests, C-reactive protein, and mycoplasma tests to determine the cause of the fever. Based on the test results, targeted treatment can be administered. Vaccination should be temporarily suspended.
