Question
What should I do if my child doesn’t want to eat?
Answer
Parents can address their child’s dietary issues from the following aspects:
- Arrange meals reasonably, eat at regular times, ensure hygiene; maintain a regular lifestyle, get enough deep sleep, and have regular bowel movements; ensure a balanced diet, eat more whole grains, coarse grains, and fruits and vegetables, limit snacks and sweets, and drink less beverages, especially cold drinks.
- Establish a stable bowel movement environment; have dinner at the same place, avoid discussing irrelevant matters that have nothing to do with dinner to help the child focus on bowel movements.
- Enhance mental care; maintain a good mood. Avoid scolding, threatening, or punishing to prevent the child from becoming even more reluctant to eat.
