Question
Last Saturday night, my two-year-old choked on peanuts and started having severe coughing, followed by vomiting without anything coming out. Over the next few days, there were occasional coughs and I could hear a sawing-like sound in the throat. During dinner and nap time, everything was normal. An X-ray showed inflammation. I’m worried that the peanuts might not have been visible in the X-ray.
Answer
Since an X-ray has been taken, there’s no need to worry as it wouldn’t be unclear. Moreover, if there were any foreign objects in the trachea, there would be continuous severe coughing and difficulty breathing. With bronchitis, using some anti-inflammatory medication would suffice. This is the suggestion for the question ‘What should I do if my two-year-old has a severe cough after choking on peanuts last Saturday night?’ I hope this helps and wish you good health!
