Question

The four-month-old baby has been crying and not eating much lately. I want to know what kind of food should I give the baby at this time?

Answer

Generally speaking, a four-month-old baby can start gradually introducing solid foods. Initially, you can start with rice porridge, millet porridge, or gruel, cooking the rice or millet to a very thick consistency, then only feeding the thick part on top. After a few days, you can gradually add rice grains. Approximately one to two weeks later, you can start introducing egg yolks, initially giving the baby one-fourth of an egg yolk, crushing it and mixing it into the rice porridge; then gradually increase to half an egg yolk, and eventually to one whole egg yolk.
