Question

How to treat diarrhea in children?

Answer

Consider testing the child’s stool to determine if the diarrhea is caused by dyspepsia, enteritis, or intestinal dysfunction due to fever. If it’s due to dyspepsia, it’s recommended to take symptomatic anti-inflammatory medication such as Simethicone and Mommy Love, along with treating with Dinggui’er umbilical cord plasters on the navel. If the diarrhea is caused by enteritis, anti-inflammatory treatment with Ampicillin infusion is suggested. If the child has a high fever, oral ibuprofen suspension can be used to reduce fever. Additionally, reduce the interval of changing diapers and increase water intake to prevent dehydration.
