Question
How can I help my baby, who has been feeling listless since 3 PM and doesn’t want to take a nap until the morning? He naps around 10 AM but sleeps on and off until 6 or 7 PM, during which time he also doesn’t want to drink milk. At night, he drinks breast milk three to four times, but from morning until around 7 PM in the evening, he doesn’t want to eat much milk. I’m worried about how to help my baby. I would like to ask the doctor…
Answer
Hello. To determine if your baby is deficient in zinc, a blood test is necessary. In fact, not wanting to eat might be related to the feeding method. From a young age, your baby should develop good bowel habits, sitting down to eat during meals, rather than eating while playing. Avoid giving too much candy, snacks, or drinking beverages instead of water between meals. Let your baby eat what they like and don’t force them to eat what they don’t like; long-term selective eating can lead to decreased appetite. Scientific feeding methods can ensure that your baby doesn’t lack any trace elements. The balanced diet we talk about refers to a combination of coarse and fine grains, meat and vegetables, with a balanced ratio of grains and vegetables, meats, and nutrients that meet the needs of your baby’s body, allowing them to grow healthy and strong. As the baby grows older, their deep sleep gradually increases, so this sleep pattern is quite normal; many children have less deep sleep time than this. As long as it doesn’t affect the baby’s body and growth, it’s fine to slightly reduce some sleep time. Wishing your baby a healthy and happy growth!
