Answer
- Dosage and Administration: For infants, 5-10 milliliters per day; for adults, 20-30 milliliters per day, divided into 2-3 doses after meals.
- Side Effects: Mild nausea, belching, dry heaves, constipation may occur. Long-term use may lead to rebound increased gastric acid secretion. It is not recommended for long-term use as it may cause difficulty in absorption.
- Discontinuation: Stop using if blood calcium or blood zinc levels are too high, if there is hyperthyroidism, or if you are taking digitalis-like medications.
- Precautions: Use with caution in patients with kidney dysfunction or diabetes. It should only be taken when diagnosed with zinc deficiency, especially when calcium deficiency is also present. If long-term use is necessary, it must be done under physician guidance.
