Question
How long does mifepristone tablet remain in the body before it breaks down and metabolizes?
Answer
Mifepristone tablet is rapidly absorbed orally, with a half-life and peak time of blood concentration reaching approximately 1.5 hours and 0.81 hours, respectively. The blood drug peak concentration is about 0.8mg/L and 2.34mg/L, but there is significant individual variation. The drug is eliminated from the body relatively slowly, with an elimination half-life of about 20 to 34 hours. After 72 hours of taking the medication, the blood drug concentration can still be maintained at about 0.2mg/L. The product has a marked first-pass effect, and within 1 to 2 hours after oral administration, the concentration of metabolites in the blood is already lower than that of the parent compound.
