Question

After giving birth, I noticed that my nipples are too short, making it difficult for my baby to latch on directly. As a result, I have to rely on formula feeding. I’m looking for a solution.

Answer

You can extend your nipples by using either manual or mechanical traction. Manual traction involves squeezing the nipple out of the skin’s surface and then using your thumb and forefinger to pinch and pull horizontally or vertically, doing this for about 30 minutes, 3 to 5 times a day, alternating between both sides. Mechanical traction uses a manual or electric breast pump, utilizing the vacuum principle to extract the nipple, also for about 30 minutes, 3 to 5 times a day.
