Question

My 11-year-old daughter is 141cm tall. Is this normal? Could she have dwarfism?

Answer

Based on the condition of your daughter’s growth plates, whether her height is normal and if she can grow further depends on whether the growth plates are fully fused. Although her height is not exceptionally short, if the growth plates have not fully fused, it may be considered to use growth hormone temporarily. It is recommended to consume enough vegetables, high-protein foods, and foods rich in calcium and zinc, avoid fussy eating, maintain good rest and quality sleep, and engage in moderate physical activities such as skipping rope and playing basketball. If the growth plates have already fused, consider undergoing leg-lengthening surgery at a regular hospital, but it can be quite expensive.
