Question

What are the symptoms of pediatric epilepsy?

Answer

The symptoms of pediatric epilepsy are generally similar to those in adults, but there are many unique manifestations. For example, there are age differences; in many cases with primary epilepsy due to hereditary factors, there are characteristics at various age stages. For instance, neonatal seizures have distinct features. There’s also benign pediatric epilepsy that occurs during infancy, which often recurs in infancy and childhood, and even in adolescence, such as juvenile-type recurrences. Each age group has its own characteristics. This type of epilepsy is also referred to as an epilepsy syndrome, as it manifests during different age stages and may never appear again after this period with additional unique features.
