Question

The baby started to only drink breast milk and not milk at one and a half months old, and now, after a month, the weight has not only not increased but has slightly decreased. How can the baby be made to accept milk?

Answer

This is a normal phenomenon for a baby who is just recovering breast milk and is resistant to formula. Different babies need time to adapt to new foods, with some taking just one or two days, while others may need five or six days. Therefore, patience is required, allowing the baby to repeatedly encounter new foods so that they can practice defecation methods and adapt to new flavors. Sometimes the baby may eat and then vomit, but this does not mean the baby does not accept the food; persistence may lead to the situation disappearing. Sometimes it may take 8-10 times for the baby to understand the new food. The same goes for making the baby accept formula; it needs to be done gradually.
