This is a manifestation of enuresis. Enuresis refers to the occurrence of at least one instance of bedwetting per week after the age of 5, and does not imply an occasional occurrence. There are many reasons for bedwetting, although some diseases can cause enuresis in children, for most bedwetters, bedwetting is a functional issue. As long as parents pay attention to their child’s care and eliminate factors in life that may trigger bedwetting, it is possible to correct it. Some children may have a genetic predisposition to bedwetting due to familial history.
