Question
Why does a two-year-old baby get bronchitis? Should medication be changed after taking azithromycin and experiencing dry vomiting and diarrhea?
Answer
The causes of bronchitis are usually related to viral and bacterial infections. A baby’s infection may be associated with factors such as temperature changes, constriction of respiratory capillaries, brain edema, and decreased immunity. Treatment can include antibiotics such as penicillin G, erythromycin, etc., along with expectorants, cough suppressants, antispasmodics, and asthma medications. If there is still persistent obstruction in the airways, corticosteroids can be used. Nebulizer therapy can also help dissolve secretions in the trachea, facilitating expectoration. If sputum is too thick to cough up, consider using magnetic resonance nebulizer inhalation.
