Question

Over the past week, my child has developed a habit of biting the inside of their lower lip, often causing it to break. However, their diet and sleep are normal. I would like to inquire if this could be due to a deficiency in certain nutrients or other reasons? Have you encountered similar cases during previous consultations?

Answer

Dear doctor, I have found a soft, semi-transparent lump about the size of a soybean on the inside of my child’s lower lip. After breaking the skin, it leaks mucus, and after the scab forms, it grows back soon. What could be the cause of this? Are there any methods to prevent or treat it?
