Question

What should I do if my newborn has right-sided body spasms?

Answer

There are scattered slightly shorter T1 and slightly longer T2 signal shadows in the left cerebellum, bilateral basal ganglia, periventricular area of the lateral cerebral ventricle, and left frontal parietal lobe. There is brain swelling in the left frontal parietal lobe, narrowing of the cerebral sulcus, and a large area of high signal intensity in the left frontal parietal lobe on the diffusion-weighted image. The rest of the brain shows small patchy high signal intensity lesions, the ventricular cistern system is of equal size and symmetry, no abnormal signals are found, and the midline structures are centered.
