Question

Can Hepatitis B Be Transmitted Through Eating Together?

Answer

If you share a meal with a hepatitis B patient or carrier, there is a possibility of transmission if your mouth is injured by fish bones, bitten by teeth, or if the intestinal mucosa is scratched by rough food. This also applies if you have oral ulcers, gum bleeding, or gastrointestinal ulcers. Hepatitis B virus can enter your body through these damaged areas. However, the likelihood of hepatitis B being transmitted through food is generally very low.
