Question

What causes pediatric epilepsy?

Answer

The causes of pediatric epilepsy include primary and secondary factors. Primary epilepsy is mainly due to genetic factors, with no structural changes or metabolic abnormalities found in the patient’s brain. Secondary epilepsy, on the other hand, is caused by brain diseases or systemic diseases, such as difficult childbirth, trauma, brain hemorrhage, etc. Sometimes, children on artificial feeding may also develop epilepsy.
