Question

Can Vitamin B1 be given to babies for a long time?

Answer

Vitamin B1 is indicated for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin B1 deficiency, as well as for the auxiliary treatment of conditions such as peripheral neuritis and indigestion. In certain situations, such as during pregnancy or lactation, hyperthyroidism, and burns, the need for Vitamin B1 increases. However, large doses of Vitamin B1 may improve symptoms in some hereditary enzyme deficiency diseases, but there is no definite therapeutic effect on diseases such as cerebellar syndrome, skin diseases, and chronic diarrhea. Allergic reactions may occur with high-dose intravenous injection, manifesting as rashes, itching, wheezing, etc. Allergic reactions may also occur with injectable medications, presenting symptoms such as weakness, chest pain, and palpitations. For individuals with normal renal function, Vitamin B1 is almost non-toxic.
