Question
I’ve started introducing solid foods, such as apple juice, vegetable juice, and carrot juice. The baby hasn’t had a bowel movement for three days. How should I resolve this?
Answer
- Ensure the baby drinks enough water; you can add milk powder or water with milk partner, one packet per day. Note that the intake time of formula milk and breast milk should be separated by 2 hours to avoid constipation.
- Adjust the dietary structure of mothers who are breastfeeding; eat lighter and drink more water.
- Give the baby two abdominal clockwise massages daily, each lasting 5-10 minutes.
- Increase the intake of fruit and vegetable juices. Avoid feeding the baby too quickly, and dilute the formula milk a bit if necessary.
