Question

The lump on my child’s back of the head has grown larger, and the county hospital said it was a lymph node. Is there anything wrong?

Answer

Lymphadenitis may be caused by bacteria entering the lymph nodes through the lymphatic vessels. When a person’s immune resistance is low, it is more likely to occur. Treatment can include medications such as Dianlan tablets, Niuhuang Jiedu tablets, and antibiotics like Roxithromycin, and can be supplemented with external applications of drugs like Jinhuang San or Huanglian ointment. For children, whose immune resistance is generally weaker, vascular malformations may be more common. It is recommended that parents not worry too much and take the child to a specialized hospital for examination and treatment in a timely manner, and to regularly undergo health checks.
