Question
What should I do when my baby sleeps during the day and cries at night frequently?
Answer
The baby sleeps soundly during the day but becomes excited at night, which is what people often refer to as “sleeping backwards.” When faced with such a baby, mothers should first not be anxious. Try to keep the baby awake and minimize sleep in the morning or in the afternoon. In the daytime, keep the room as bright as possible, and there should always be some pleasant sounds or soft music. When the baby wakes up, be sure to engage them in play for a while and try to extend their time of excitement during the day. By around 8 PM, give the baby a warm bath, then feed them and change their diaper. At this point, the baby may feel extremely tired and fall asleep quickly. Consistently doing this every day will gradually correct the baby’s bad habit of sleeping backwards.
