Questions

  1. Does the child still need to continue with hearing tests?
  2. There is dirt in the child’s ear canal, and sometimes things like earwax fall out. How should I clean the child’s ear canal?

Answers

  1. Based on the child’s condition, it is recommended to have a hearing test after 42 days and then to have regular hearing tests to ensure normal hearing development.
  2. You can use ear drops to be inserted into the ear canal, then let the child maintain this position for 2 minutes to allow the earwax to be sufficiently diluted. The next day, remove the sterilized cotton ball inserted into the ear; the earwax may stick to it and be cleared out of the ear canal. Please note that do not use cotton swabs or other tools to clean it yourself, as this may harm the ear canal or push the earwax deeper in.
