Question
I’ve been hiccuping and coughing non-stop at night, but it’s not as severe during the day. Why is that? I had a cough for three months four years ago and didn’t receive any treatment then. Does that matter?
Answer
It might be due to a cold causing fever and cough. It’s recommended to drink plenty of warm water, maintain a light diet, avoid sweet, spicy, greasy, and fried foods, keep bowel movements regular, stay warm, wash hands frequently, ensure good indoor ventilation, take symptomatic anti-inflammatory medication regularly. If the situation does not improve, it’s advised to seek a follow-up consultation as soon as possible.
