Question

Does it matter if my child has a sustained temperature of 37 degrees?

Answer

A body temperature of 37.5 degrees or below is a protective response of the body. It might indicate some inflammation in a certain part of the body, but the exact cause is unclear. Generally, such a temperature is fine. Just ensure your child drinks plenty of water, take precautions against colds (a higher baseline body temperature can make one feel cold), and after a while, the temperature will return to normal. During this period, you can check their blood occasionally to see if platelets are decreasing; if not, there’s no need to worry too much.
