Question

Why does my baby’s stool frequency and color not follow a regular pattern?

Answer

Formula-fed babies are more prone to constipation, possibly due to the higher calcium and casein content in milk, along with lower sugar and starch content, which can lead to water absorption in the intestines, making the stool dry. Additionally, if the baby eats less, consumes too much protein in the food, insufficient sugar, or lacks a regular lifestyle without cultivating a habit of regular bowel movements, these may also cause constipation. Some chronic diseases, such as rickets and dermatomyositis, can also lead to malnutrition, thereby causing constipation.
